January 12th, 2016 marks the end of support for older versions of Internet Explorer. Microsoft has announced that it will only continue ongoing support for Internet Explorer 11 on Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1, and 10, with the Microsoft Edge browser now their primary focus on Windows 10.
Microsoft has put together a small microsite to help home and business users migrate to Internet Explorer 11 or Edge. This is an important upgrade for all users, as no future security updates will be released for older versions of Internet Explorer, leaving machines open to attack from compromised websites.
We mentioned in an earlier article that using older versions of Internet Explorer also affects web usability and development costs, so we're stressing to our clients and prospects to upgrade to the latest versionf of Internet Explorer today.
