City of Asylum: Internationally-recognized writers’ and artists’ haven launches new web presence
Savvior is thrilled to announce the go-live of a series of new web experiences for City of Asylum (CoA) and City of Asylum @ Alphabet City, CoA’s home for performance art.
City of Asylum (CoA) is a haven for endangered writers and artists from all over the globe; a unique area in Pittsburgh, PA which creates a community, a sanctuary, so that their voices are heard, and their contributions to the world thrive. CoA blends a broad range of programs integrating cross-cultural exchange, and anchoring neighborhood economic development by transforming blighted properties into homes for these programs.
The remarkable transformation of the compound structure, previously a long-since vacant building in Pittsburgh’s North Side now features apartments, performance space, a restaurant, a bookstore, and headquarters for this internationally-recognized organization, and enables exiled writers and artists to flourish.
With such an important mission, CoA recognized the need to create a holistic, interactive web experience to fully showcase its multi-faceted offerings, and turned to Savvior to help execute on the brand vision. In addition to a fresh landing page for the City of Asylum site, Savvior deployed a new mobile-friendly Alphabet City website which links to the eCommerce system, a microsite for the Bookstore, and also physically configured the CoA Garden for WiFi access.
